We went to see The Fawlty Towers Experience, good show, shame about the 3 course meal.
On entering, we were asked to remain on the mezzanine area, near the bar! nowhere to sit, only a row of sticky tables to stand our drinks on, sticky at the start of the evening????
Through the darkness a spotlight shone on our table, straight onto greasy fingerprints on the cutlery. O.K, no, definitely not O.K.
As part of the show the soup was accidentally on purpose spilt over my cutlery (lucky for me) I asked for clean ones, certainly said the nice young waiter, so I waited and waited, no cutlery, the main course arrived, ah!
the waiter remembered I didn't have a knife and fork, he went off (I presumed to get them) no, food got colder, my companion then went to ask for cutlery, now his food was also getting cold,
the waiter appeared with knife and fork still wet from rinsing them under the tap, I was speechless, a supposedly well organized restaurant with no clean items to hand, admittedly they were busy, but that is their business.
Dessert arrived in the form of what I presumed to be Bake-well Tart, but I couldn't be sure, with two stewed prunes on top, no cream or custard, pretty dry stuff, the sort of thing chickens might enjoy. Not an experience we would repeat.
