Stopped here for lunch - friendly service and good beer. Our BLTs were fine although would have been better with crustier bread, but the side order of triple-cooked chips were excellent - probably the best we have had anywhere. Dog-friendly as well. Well worth a visit.

After reading the review in the Telegraph we tried the Apple Tree our opinion would be to advise others not to bother the food was expensve soup at £6.95 so called hand cut chips with beefburger £12.95 overcooked rare beef salad looked good but was tough and a local ploughmans with pate was very poor. No idea on the sweets as we left dissapointed and still hungry. Maybe it was a bad day .
