I have just had a lovely weekend visiting friends in Bath. We checked out a few cafe/bars and came across Adventure Cafe.
Very busy and buzzing with such a variety of people from Mums out at lunch, people having a lazy working day with the laptop, to friends catching up!
It was a shame we couldn't sit outside but nevertheless we were greeting with smiles and enthusiasm - Emma especially was very helpful.
Bloody Marys are brilliant, salads were great ( I had the goats cheese salad... rather huge!) and a hot chocolate, could have been a little hotter but that's personal choice!
Thanks guys and will definitely be back!

Don't even waste your time. Poor service and food is awful
This was a dreadful place. We went there today on a Sunday lunchtime. Once they'd finally acknowledged our presence and took our order (after being prompted after 30 mins) they couldn't even bring the drinks over correctly.
I ordered the caesar salad and when it came it was full of brown lettuce and was sprinkled with a dressing that was the colour and consistency of fat free milk. Before the salad arrived we heard the waitresses say that caesar salad was now off the menu as they were out of ingredients. That obviously didn't stop them serving my one which had clearly had the last drop of dressing in the bottle watered down and dribbled over my tasteless salad. Truly awful. If only I could give a zero star review.
I so wish Adventure was good - its in a great position, has alfresco eating and enormous windows facing out onto George Street.
It would be a great place to go to drink coffee and read the Sunday papers. Unfortunately it has the slowest, dimmest waiting staff of any restaurants I know.
And that's saying something. You don't need a watch to time your order, a calender would be more useful.
Seriously, though - orders are often wrong, brought late and rarely together if you're in a group.
Food is OK, but don't go if you're hungry. They're even slow bringing the bill (which is often wrong - they even undercharge, they're that hopeless).
Emma the day time manageress is superb. The cafe has had a mini refurb & makes the atmosphere more welcome. warmer & easy to waste an hour over good coffee & great breakkie. Highly reccommended!
Sunday afternoon, 21 Sept. '08.Had 1/2 Nachos. It was delivered on an unpolished plate.Regret eating it straight away.
