SINCE THE PUB HAS GONE UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT IT HAS GONE DOWNHILL

REPLACING THE CHEF WITH THE KICHEN PORTER IS NOT A GREAT IDEA AND THE NEW MEMBERS OF STAFF NEED TO SMILE AND GET THE FACT THAT CUSTOMERS ARE NOT AN INCONVENIENCE

The Coeur is a pub which i have known for years and have always made an effort to visit. it seems to have lost some of its regular old characters of late who always made the bar interesting and fun, and seemed to full of elderly couples eating egg and chips, which seemed a shame. it was very busy when we called and as its small, very cramped and full of steaming bodies. all things change, but this once wonderful little pub seems to have lost something of itself

Totally disagree this pub under the ownership of Bath brewery Abbey Ales has gone from strength to strength.

It is now clean and fully refurbished which is something new here. An excellent choice of real ales not just from Abbey Ales but from other local breweries as well.

A menu offering a varied selection of food which does not have egg and chips on it (were you in the right pub?) and pleasent staff.

Not perfect but well worth a visit especially when the weathers nice and you can sit outside and watch the world go by! - Report

I totally disagree too, when I first visited the pub years ago and did not return as it was dirty smelly, and the land lady at the time was rude and barred me from using the toilet at the end of the evening.

When abbey took it over i went to have a look. It had been refurbed and had a whole new lease of life ( and I also couldn't find egg and chips on the menu, in fact i had a smoked haddock ploughman's).

I visit the Ker whenever I'm in the area now. and cant go into town without popping in to see what ales they have on or have a bite to eat. some of the regulars have left, drink elsewhere at times or are barred.

some of these im glad don't enter the premises anyway as they lowered the tone. still many characters remain and it is a friendly pub laid back relaxed dining in the day, and a fun place to be in the evening and even shows sports when big games are on.

The choice of ales is great and I was informed recently that even more breweries have been added to the order list.

the last message leads me to believe that someone from another pub wrote it, as the Coeur De Lion is nothing like their description.

I will continue to have the Coeur De Lion on my pub list when im in the center of Bathdanglefish - Report
