Me and my partner, off to Bath for the first time wandered upon this lovely little restaurant. Just off Pulteney Bridge, almost dragged in by the cute place round the corner decided to give Clarkes a try. And we were delighted. To start it is a very small venue; however cute and romantic fitted the bill. It was late-ish for an out of London dining on a Wednesday night. They were full, however the extremely helpful waitress made some space for us and I am glad she did. Each course was excellently presented and tasted excellent. Not expensive however not budget. Definitely recommend Clarkes and not sure where the other reviewers actually were eating or being waited upon? Give it a try, you will not be disappointed; we were not and ended up going back for lunch! Yum!

This is one totally over priced restaurant. The service was awful and how can you have a good restaurant where the waiting staff advise against the house wine?!? The service is awful and food is tasteless. At least if you pay the prices you do then you'd expect a tasty dish. It was a very disappointing experience- Do not dine here!

Service was rude, pushy, very slow and patronising. Food was tasteless. Restaurant is small, cramped and needs updating. It was a horrible experience, don't go there.

Possibly the worst dining experience I have come across in Bath. The staff were rude and un-attentive.

The general experience left my party deflated feeling unwelcome and would certainly not recommend or return.
